CAMP FACILITIES: Our 200 acre property contains forest land, a swimming pond, activity fields and hiking trails. We have 14 cabins, a dining hall, meetinghouse and a large community garden attached to our farm lands and orchard.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Camp - Ages 8-14: Campers come for 1 week or two week session (and some for 3, 4, or 5 weeks!) and go on wilderness trips. Each week there are 3 day, 2 night trips to Tahoe, the Sierra Buttes, and/or the Yuba River.

Teen Leadership Camp - Ages 15-16: These exciting programs takes the Summer Camp experience to a whole new level for 15 and 16 year olds: We offer a two-week hiking program, a one-week farming and cooking program, and a two-week bike repair and bike touring program.

Hiking Program (Two weeks): TLCers will spend two days bonding, learning about their trip, and preparing for hiking. They and their trip leaders will then embark on a 10-day backpacking trip along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). They will then return to camp, and will have two days of closure at the end.

Farming & Cooking Program (One week): TLCers will spend their week working in Woolman's organic garden, learning about farming, plants and the farm to table journeys of the food we eat. They will learn nutrition and cooking skills as they prepare many of their meals with the fruits and vegetables harvested.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camp is located at St. Michael's Abbey of the Norbertine Fathers. The camp utilizes our boarding school facilities for sleeping, eating, and praying in the abbey church.
Our 36 acre property is perfect for a boys' camp, with sports fields, hiking, and an on-site pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: St. Michael’s Summer Camp is a day and night resident camp for boys, ages 7-12. It has been in operation since 1962 and is accredited by the American Camping Association. Sessions are one week long, from Sunday afternoon to Saturday afternoon, extending from early July to early August.

Operated by the priests and seminarians of St. Michael’s Abbey, the camp offers good, wholesome fun in a safe environment, as well as instruction in the Catholic faith and participation in the sacraments.

With a wide variety of activities, ranging from classic team sports to tarantula hunting to epic battles that determine the fate of the entire universe, St. Michael’s Summer Camp is truly “Where All Boys Have Fun!”®

Upon their arrival on Sunday afternoon, the campers are divided into councils of 6-8 boys per counselor. The campers are always supervised. Even at night, two staff members are present in every dorm. Sleeping arrangements consist of three bunkrooms and one large military tent, each sleeping 3-6 councils.

CAMP FACILITIES: The school campus is 27,000 square meters and equips with state-of-art facilities which provide students with comfortable and convenient environment for learning and living. The school library has a collection of 90,000 books that allow students to access it at anytime. Wifi Internet is available throughout every corner of the campus. Sport field occupies a 9,600 square meters area, including outdoor lighted basketball courts, soccer field, tennis courts, rock climbing, etc. It also has an indoor gym of 700 square meters. Designed for students age 14-18. It combines a community service project that could earn up to 80 service hours, culture activities, and traveling altogether. CAMP COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Brief Description: Camp counselors at Pali Adventures are responsible for the physical and emotional well-being of campers. They supervise campers in a cabin setting, at mealtimes, and during activities. Counselors are in charge of facilitating activities throughout the day. Counselors work as a team to ensure all campers have a fun and memorable experience at camp. Counselors report directly to their Specialty Director and Group Leader.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Exhibit characteristics of responsibility, dependability, leadership, patience, punctuality, hard work, sense of humor, self-control, integrity, common sense, good judgment and a positive enthusiastic attitude.
 Complete the staff application and interview process.
 Attend staff training (May 30 – June 12) and all in-service trainings.
 Must have completed high school and be a minimum 18 years of age or older as of 5/30/20.
 Desire and ability to work with children.
 Other duties as assigned

Staff members are entrusted with the care and safety of young children in a rustic setting replete with natural and man-made dangers. All staff members must have the ability to respond immediately to an emergency. Any staff member with a disability that may affect the Staff Member’s ability to physically perform these requirements should immediately inform the Human Resources Department to determine possible reasonable accommodations.

• Recognize and respond to the opportunities for problem solving in the group.
• The counselor is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of each camper within their cabin group and with whom they come into contact. E.g. drinking water, daily showers, teeth brushing, active supervision during rest/ down time, application of sunscreen and lip balm, appropriate attire for the activity they will be attending, etc.

• Provide opportunities for each individual to experience success during camp.
• The staff member must never leave campers unsupervised.

• Develop opportunities for positive interaction between campers and staff.
• Provide opportunities for each individual to experience success during camp.
• Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.

Other Job functions

CAMP FACILITIES: Our camps are indoors and utilizes the space in order to rotate games and activities for the younger group and the older kids group. 40 minutes on and 15 minutes rest is the typical rotation time but down time and up time is adjusted based on activity levels of the participants and instructors.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our sports camps (holiday, spring, summer & fall) are held at different valley locations. Get ready for some FUN! We will be learning & playing the following sports: soccer, softball, basketball, football, volleyball, dodge ball, volleyball, tennis, kickball and many more playground games!

All sports equipment will be supplied. Yes, your child will be grouped with children their same age for safety reasons and also for the best learning experience.

Yes, your children will be running, jumping, playing, sweating and laughing all day and they WILL be tired at pick-up time! At B.E.S.T. your child is not just a number in hoards of children. Each is a special individual, we learn their names, their likes and dislikes, what they excel at and teach them accordingly. FOOD & SNACKS

Snacks: B.E.S.T. will serve fresh fruit for morning and/or afternoon snacks daily. This has been cleared as a nut free snack by all who have been concerned. We encourage you to pack one snack for half day campers and 2 snacks for full day campers if your children do not like this. Lunch: We will be eating lunch every day at 12:00pm-1:00pm. Please supply your child with a sack lunch daily with their name on the sack along with an ice pack inside if required and certainly if they are picky

A.M. HALF DAY KIDS: DO NOT NEED TO bring a LUNCH! ALL AM Kids and FULL DAY kids get fed.

Friday Lunch: Do not pack a sack lunch on Fridays! It is a special FREE PIZZA FRIDAY! FREE for all our full-day campers! Please DO supply a sack lunch if your child does not eat pizza. They will each receive 2 full slices of pizza so if they require a lot more nourishment please pack some additional food. Should half day campers want to join us they will be charged an additional $5 for this additional hour. Drinks: Water is the only beverage we supply each day. Your child’s water bottle will be replenished with bottled water throughout the day (and is always available through our water fountain) so they always remain hydrated.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We welcome C.I.T.'s (Counselors in Training) 14-15 year olds to join us in Camp to facilitate our Senior instructors. This is an unpaid position but one to learn how to facilitate, lead and care for children in this sports camp setting.

CAMP FACILITIES: River Way Ranch Camp operates as a resort 9 months out of the year when camp is not in session. Campers stay in air-conditioned cabins, and sleep 8 to a room, with two counselors. CAMP SESSION DATES & FEES:
The cost of each camp session (2 weeks) is $500 for grades K-6. The cost for one week only is $300. We offer children attending all four weeks a $100 discount, reducing the total cost to $900, and a second child/sibling discount of $50 per session.

The tuition includes all camp field trips, a camp T-shirt and two snacks per day. There is an additional fee of $150 per two-week session for our 7th and 8th grade Habonim campers, to cover the cost of special activities (like surfing and scuba diving). The full tuition for each session must be paid before the first day of that session.

Every year talented players attend our camps and challenge each other to the limit, growing in skill and experience. A number of our campers have experienced training trials with professional clubs in Holland. Our programs are designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are individually challenging, as well as appropriate to the age and ability of each player.

We fly in our coaches directly from the Netherlands. They are not merely coaches: they are also teachers. Many of our coaches have graduated from a four- year CIOS College. At the Central Institution of Sports, coaches not only received their coaching licenses from the global leader in soccer development: KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) but also learn how to work with, encourage and incentivize young athletes. Avodah is a multifaceted, service-based program in which campers play an integral role in camp’s day-to-day operations. Avodahniks develop a strong work ethic and serve as Jewish role models at camp. Day Camp provides a fun filled summer with a wide variety of supervised activities. The program focuses on teaching campers new skills and social development. Backyard Bunch is a unique place where kids of many ages make new friends, explore new and old interests, develop character and build a sense of belonging.

Each session is one week providing an array of indoor and outdoor activities and experiences based on a weekly theme. Our 5 acre facility provides your child a nature based camp experience in the middle of the city.

For over 25 years we have been a proud member of the American Camp Association closely following hundreds of standards for health and safety, and self submitting to accreditation visits.

All of our staff must attend intensive pre-camp training sessions that include: policies and procedures, health and safety, camp activities, appropriate staff and camper interactions, and a variety of other essential skills. Sections of the trainings also provide instruction on how to deal with situations that may occur at camp.

Beyond summer camp, most of our staff work with kids year round within the Long Beach Unified School District After School Programs. They work with kids from a variety of socioeconomic and special needs backgrounds. All of our staff are required to be at least 18 years of age.

CAMP FACILITIES: We are located on 220 acres in the Malibu mountains. It is a nice rustic-type camp , with refurbished boys' side cabins as of 2014 and the girls' side on schedule for refurbishment within the next couple of years. We have an outdoor pool, basketball courts, ping pong tables, gaga court, sports field, ropes course (upper and lower elements) hiking trails, indoor dining hall, conference center, an area for outdoor camping and adventures and more. TASC : Teen Age Service Camp
(entering 10th -11th grades)

TASC is geared toward developing leadership, through a group-oriented community project implemented by the campers, and through special programs. Throughout the session, TASCers experience pride and fulfillment as they enrich the Camp JCA Shalom campus. In addition, TASCers get to experience the best components of the general camp program along with a special out-of-camp overnight trip. For over 45 years, the TASC program has been one of our most popular teen programs.

TASC : California Kibbutz -
(entering 11th grades)

TASC Kibbutz is a new program created just for entering 11th graders. This program is an immersive three week program designed to be the ultimate Jewish camping and leadership experience. In TASC Kibbutz, we transport ourselves back a hundred years ago to feel what it was like for some of the pioneers who made their way to Israel. The "Kibbutzniks" will have to "create their own world" at camp. They will build their own living area, cook many of their own meals, and even help work the farm at camp! By creating a kibbutz at JCA, the Kibbutzniks will come together as a tightly knit community, grow closer to the land; learn about sustainability and organic farming; and gain knowledge of kibbutz life in Israel- all while having fun at camp! While the Kibbutzniks will spend the majority of time creating their kibbutz, they will still be connected to camp, spending sometime every day with the rest of the camp community, and still participating in many of camps offerings such as horseback riding and the ropes course. At the end of the program, the Kibbutzniks will leave with a sense of accomplishment, a set of friends for life, and a true finale of their last camp experience before becoming a Counselor-In-Training (CIT).

These future leaders have a lasting effect on both the spirit and welfare of Camp JCA Shalom. Workshops in Jewish programming, child development and leadership training, along with observation, individual supervision and actual work with younger campers, helps the CIT explore the functioning and philosophy of camp, and develop his/her leadership abilities. This is an enriching and exciting experience as well as an important step towards future staff positions at camp. By the end of the summer, the CITs have the opportunity to become junior counselors during Session 3, and will receive a small stipend. Personal Interview required.

All Teen Leadership Programs:

- Require an additional application and interview prior to acceptance.
- Have a minimum and maximum number of participants.

Located in a 2,000 acre beautiful redwood forest three and half hours north of San Francisco, Camp Mendocino offers programs that are clearly unique to those offered at our nine Clubhouses in San Francisco. As with all of our programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, kids learn respect for others and themselves and are given opportunities to learn, grow and succeed.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We have a LIT program for teens 15-17. It is a job readiness program in which teens participate in various workshops (i.e., resume writing), as well as shadow different jobs at Camp. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships are widely available to all those who apply. Camp Mendocino is a program of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco. We believe every child should have the opportunity to experience Camp.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Camp2College (C2C) is a year round program for teens that excelled in the Leaders in Training (LIT) program. The program focuses on preparing youth for the future and post-secondary education. Teens attend monthly workshops on topics ranging from college applications and professions in nonprofits, as well as participate in a range of volunteer opportunities.

CAMP FACILITIES: The Control Room is a 28,754-square foot facility with a minimum of 30' clear height, to allow members and players all the room they need to get creative with the ball. Skylights offer a dramatic, well-lit environment to simulate outdoor play, and the spacious, open area can accommodate up to 7 stations simultaneously.

Covered with the best synthetic turf available, (with NO rubber infield) the Control Room offers a top-of-the-line training facility in a clean, safe environment.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Based on an original method, our training program is designed to help kids and teens learn the technique of this beautiful game by spending more time with the ball and having plenty of fun along the way.
Like all games, Futbol should be fun and entertaining. With quality guidance from our instructors, correction and repetition of the same actions will give you the opportunity to take your skills to the next level and achieve your goals.

CAMP FACILITIES: San Diego State University is the oldest and largest higher education institution in the San Diego region. Since it was founded in 1897, the university has grown to become a nationally ranked research university. Campers stay in the dorms on campus, 2 per room, and train on the SDSU soccer turf playing fields.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: SDSU Men's Head Coach Entering his 16th season at the helm of the SDSU men's soccer program, Camp Director Lev Kirshner has brought the Aztecs back into the national spotlight while leading the program into its 11th season as a member of the Pac-12 Conference.

CAMP FACILITIES: The University of California, Santa Cruz is located 35 miles from San Jose, on a beautiful coastal campus overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by gorgeous views and towering redwoods, campers are inspired to develop their love of the game and improve their individual and team skills.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO:

Our camp directors are among the finest coaches in America. They have a major stake in providing camps of the highest quality: camps that are fun, that improve the skills of the campers, and that provide the campers with the opportunity to make new, life-long friends. The best place to become a better soccer player is in the company of coaches and players who share your passion. Their program at UC Santa Cruz emphasizes small group tactics within the framework of team strategy and game play, and campers leave with a deeper and more improved understanding of the game. Specialized goalkeeper instruction is available but will not be the primary focus of the camp.

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp uses Castilleja School's wonderful indoor and outdoor facilities, including gymnasiums, art rooms, stage, swimming pool, fields and classrooms.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: For more than 45 years, Casti Camp at Castilleja School has provided girls an all-day camp where fun, learning and friendships have been the focus. Casti Camp offers a range of age-appropriate activities including athletics, art, science, computers, writing, crafts, cooking, drama, dance and music classes each day. In addition, there are weekly field trips and memorable traditions, including talent shows, counselor skits, prison ball, BBQ Wednesdays, and more. Activities are designed to encourage creativity, self-confidence, cooperation, risk-taking, and responsibility.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CILT program available for students entering grades 7-9. The CILT program is perfect for students who love the camp experience and want to develop their leadership skills.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Scholarships are available.
