Camp Half Moon is located in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts and provides a safe, secure environment in which campers thrive, learn new skills, develop confidence and improve interpersonal relationships.

Half Moon is a community that values and encourages each child's individuality; a community where campers not only have fun and develop life long friendships but also gain confidence and pride in their accomplishments. LEADER IN TRAINING (LIT) PROGRAM
Boys and Girls Ages 16-17

Teens with the ambition to lead will spend parts of each day exploring and expanding their skills under the direction of experienced staff, with opportunities to put their new skills into action by assisting staff with our younger campers.

Participants will gain confidence, improve decision-making skills, and develop new friendships – all while having fun!

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: ACA Accredited Nobles Day Camp adheres to the philosophy of our founders Grandin Wise and George K. Bird, who established the camp in 1948. We provide a safe and supportive environment for our campers to enjoy recreation in a fun and non-competitive atmosphere. Our campers learn to take positive risks and respect the rights of others while developing positive self-esteem and building long-lasting friendships.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Although we would like to help as many children attend Nobles Day Camp as possible, we have limited funds for camper assistance. We do offer a sliding scale fee for the following 2 week blocks: Week 1 & 2 and/ or Week 7 & 8. Timeline: Completed applications are processed on a first come, first serve basis between February 1–April 30, 2015, provided that space is still available. Does not apply to Early Bird Special. CAMP FACILITIES: We have 15 cabins for campers to sleep in. All cabins have electricity. We have a dining hall, rec. hall, and other locations for our program areas throughout the camp.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our building has an indoor space for sports, a kitchen for our cooking activities and 4 classrooms for different age groups. Outside we have a basketball hoop, 4 square and hopscotch alongside the beautiful Forest Park. We drive the children to a Woburn public pool for swimming and go to a local baseball field for our annual ASC Kickball game.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our carefully selected, experienced staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of each child by providing a safe and caring environment. They take an active interest in promoting values of self-esteem, independence and mutual respect. Many are teaching professionals who work in Woburn and surrounding towns. All are trained in CPR, first aid and childhood development. The diversity in age and background of our staff helps to make the ASC "The place where kids have so much fun, they beg to stay later!"

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: During the school year we pick up from Woburn Elementary Schools and transport the children to the After School Club where they stay until 5:45p.m.

During Christmas, February and April vacations we are open full days from 7:45a.m. - 5:45p.m.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: "The Premier Soccer Training System" - implements our step by step process of physical technique DEMONSTRATIONS, You then IMITATE these demonstrated skills/techniques in training, we then give you the opportunity to EXECUTE these skills in competition with our continued expert guidance and coaching. "The PSTS" is offered at all our Soccer Camps in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our 55 acre campus houses numerous athletic fields, an outdoor pool, archery range, auditorium, tennis courts, and numerous buildings for our specialist activities.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our dedicated and qualified staff provide daily fun and exciting activities for our campers. We have 6 specialists that lead campers in exciting and age-appropriate activities. The VIPs spend part of the day developing the skills necessary to lead younger campers in daily activities such as sports and cooking. For the remainder of the day they enjoy recreation activities within their group focusing on teamwork, communication, and social skills

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp's 208 acres include a half-mile of shorefront on a lovely lake surrounded by wooded property where 50 permanent buildings are located. Shamlian Hall houses two dining rooms, a library, snack bar and offices.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Good News was founded in 1935 by W. Wyeth and his wife Grace Willard. A graduate of Brown University and Princeton Theological Seminary, Dr. Willard also received a Doctor of Law Degree from Northwestern University. Their children and grandchildren continue to lead the camp program.

Camp Good News is a non-denominational, independent non-profit Christian summer camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. Sponsored by the Society for Christian Activities and founded in 1935. Counselors are the heart of Camp Good News. Our hard-working staff is selected on the basis of their camp skills, love of people, and sense of responsibility.

The waterfront program is carefully supervised by Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Registered nurses are on 24-hour duty at the camp. A pediatrician's office is adjacent to the campgrounds, and there are two excellent hospitals on-Cape.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership Training Program (LT): is a tuition-less program for selected youth ages 16-17 who show leadership skills and who have some experience either at Camp Good News or other residential camp program. LT applicants must have strong recommendation, preferably from their previous camp counselors or camp directors and a willingness to learn new things.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Optional Trips
Optional trips are available to campers for an additional fee. On vehicles owned by the camp, the young people are taken to places of historic interest. After you register, you will receive more details and sign-up information by mail.

Optional Transportation
Camp Good News will provide transportation to and from the airport, South Station, and local bus stations for a small, additional fee. The camp staff will meet the arriving camper at the security checkpoint and ensure they board the correct departing plane/bus.

Optional Tutoring
For campers needing extra help in schoolwork, skilled tutors are available to review or make up courses. English lessons are available for our international campers.

First Sundays of every session families are welcomed to visit from 10:30 – 5:00.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Wingate*Kirkland is a nurturing, coed, day and overnight camp where children are inspired and empowered with a choice of daily activities; indeed a traditional camp in many ways, staying true to old fashioned values. And like it was nearly 60 years ago, Camp W*K is not a “plugged in” camp. Children feel supported and confident to step out of their comfort-zone and try new things without the fear of failure. FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Campers and their families are invited to join us at Family Camp for Memorial Day Weekend as our guests. Eat in the Dining Hall, participate in activities like tennis or softball, and even sleep in a bunk!

We strongly encourage families of first-time and veteran campers to join us. The weekend is an excellent opportunity for first-time campers to learn their way around Camp, meet some new friends and get comfortable before they arrive in the summer. Members of the Camp W*K Staff will also be in attendance to lead Planning Session, offer periods and answer questions.

We partner with our families in ensuring that all food sent to Camp is ingredient-checked before being sent to the bunk. CAMP FACILITIES: We have outstanding facilities including the Hart Center with its fitness complex, a newly renovated and lighted Astroturf field, a lighted grass field and indoor at the Field House. We also have a state-of-the-art lighted synthetic turf facility.

We have multiple programs available that are tailored to any players' needs.

These include:

Tots Program: Intro to soccer that allows the 5-7 year olds to experience the game in a playful and inviting way. Lots of games and creativity allow these young boys to explore the foundations of soccer.

Full Day Program: Is for players aged 8-19 to take advantage of intense training. This is a competitive environment where players are taught the skills to elevate their game.

Extended day program: This program takes those 8-19 beyond dinner and adds an additional session each day. Coaches will be able to coach you in game situations and guide you to make the best out of every situation on the field.

Overnight Camp: Offers the same as the extended stay but allows for overnight stay on campus and will have three meals provided to them daily

College Express Program: This program is designed for those in 9-12 grade who want additional assistance, feedback and information with regards to their college search. Test results, extensive evaluation and a DVD with game footage are all things they can use during their college search.

Dorms : The dorms are very comfortable. Wall-to-wall carpet, rooms with lots of space for all of your clothing and equipment. Each lounge has a television, refrigerator and microwave accessible to the campers.

95% of the rooms have 2 children per room, 2% have 3 children per room, 1% have 4 children per room and 2% are single occupancy rooms (typically for our oldest campers)

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The World Sports Camp mission is to create a safe and positive sports environment, where children from around the world, ages 8 through 16, can interact while improving their athletic skills. (Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf) This is accomplished through positive reinforcement coaching, with skill level training, from high level, skilled coaches and counselors. World Sports Camp allows for campers to choose which sports and to what degree they will be involved.

By empowering campers to make their own choices, we feel that their involvement will be more enthusiastic and they will have a greater desire to participate. Attention is given to treating all campers equally, with value and understanding given to the beginners as well as the advanced athlete.

World Sports Camp draws campers from 86 countries, all over the world. Approximately 35% of our campers hail from outside the United States and 65% are American. The opportunity to exchange cultural differences and participate in sports and other activities with peers from around the world is second to none.

Camp life and off campus activities are an integral part of the World Sports Camp experience. Developing new national and international friendships through sports and other camp activities, improves the quality of life for all involved. Fairness, quality sportsmanship and enforcement of rules and regulations are emphasized both on and off the playing field.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: C.I.T.'s (Camper In Training) This is a true leadership program at World Sports Camp. These campers must be 16 years of age and all but one period of each day, they will follow the normal camp schedule. During that one period, the CIT’s will shadow a coach to learn about the different coaching techniques. By the end of their stay at World Sports Camp, each CIT camper will develop a lesson for an entire period and will teach their lesson to the campers, as if they were the Head Coach!! They will have the help of the other coaches, but this will allow the CIT's to get out of their comfort zone and try something new.

As well, we have a dedicated CIT counselor who will evaluate each CIT at the end of each week to let each CIT know what they have done well and what needs improvement. In addition, because of their dedication and hard work we take all of the CIT's on a CIT trip. We allow the CIT’s to decide what this will be. For example, this past year, we went to mini-golf, laser tag, a movie and dinner off the campus as their trip of choice.

This describes the coaches of the 2014 Soccer Skills Camp at the Academy perfectly. Their pure love for the game has driven them to be exceptional players and outstanding coaches. At the Academy's Soccer Skills Camp the phrase "Let's play" really means "Let's learn." The result is campers who truly love the game of soccer and play with all their heart.

We staff only top quality, high energy coaches. Many of them from local high schools and colleges. The majority of these coaches are USSF or NSCAA licensed. We also staff a “goalie” coach to work specifically with goal-keepers.

CAMP FACILITIES: Lawrence Academy is a private boarding high school that offers summer programs. The campus has a swimming pool, 12 tennis courts, 3 indoor basketball courts, 8 athletic fields, a theater, dining hall, and numerous indoor air conditioned spaces. Summer programs are open to ages 3.5-17.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The 100-acre Lawrence Academy campus provides the setting for over 30 day camp offerings for children entering grades K–12 and an overnight English, Mandarin, Spanish, and French immersion program for American and international students. Summer Programs at Lawrence Academy are divided into three types: Day Camp, Specialty Camps, and Sports Camps. We offer nine one-week camp sessions beginning June 22, and ending August 21, 2015 for children entering Kindergarten through grade 12. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At Curry College, we offer two classifications for each week.

The Comprehensive, All Skills Camp (COED: Ages 8-18) is programmed for three different proficiency levels: beginners, intermediates and advanced players — of all ages. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Collegiate Soccer Academy (CSA) is designed for high school students who are interested in playing soccer at the collegiate level. CSA is uniquely designed to provide a fuller experience than the vast majority of summer soccer programs by providing both on and off the field training. Off the field training sessions include: SAT prep, Sports Yoga, ACL Prevention, NCAA compliance, Q&A with College Coaches, Q&A with College student-athletes, Speed & Agility, and Strength Training. Aside from competitive soccer training and playing opportunities, CSA offers off the field training sessions including SAT prep, Sports Yoga, ACL Prevention, NCAA compliance, Q&A with College Coaches, Q&A with College student-athletes, Speed & Agility, & Strength Training.
